Colorist, Meri Kate O’Connor, serves up another beautiful transformation! “I wanted to cut out as much of the orange as possible to create a deep midnight blue, making sure to eliminate the green undertones,” says O’Connor. Below is the How-To for her “Midnight Sombré.”

Processed with Moldiv

Step 1: “I used a clarifying shampoo, followed by a bleach wash
through her ends to remove as much of the orange as possible.”

Step 2: “I let that process for 15-20 minutes, then rinsed thoroughly.”

Step 3: “I then applied a level 4 Richesse at 9 volume to the root.”

Step 4: “I let that process for 30 minutes, then rinsed.”

Step 5: “I then applied Manic Panic Amplified on the ends and put her under
heat for 10 minutes to process.”

Step 6: “Lastly, I had her cool off for 10 minutes before rinsing
thoroughly and blowing her out.”

As well as maintaining a full book of clients, Meri Kate is also an educator at the Eva Scrivo Advanced Academy. The next workshop will be held on April 27th, entitled “Modern Ombre.” For more information about this class and to see the full schedule for 2015, please visit:
