Cleansing makeup, oil, and perspiration from your face at the end of the day should be a two-step process. But for many women, reaching for a makeup wipe is a quick and convenient alternative. However, this can have an adverse effect on your skin as many of these wipes contain highly concentrated cleansing ingredients. If left on the skin, they can cause dryness and irritation, especially for those who are prone to breakouts or have dry/sensitive skin.

Eau Micellaire, a product by Yon-ka, has quickly become one of my new favorites. This micellar water contains sea lavender, bergamot and mint essential oils to help cleanse and purify the skin. Gentle enough for those with sensitive or acne prone skin, it also contains rose and chamomile essential oils for their calming and soothing properties. Using a soft cotton pad, apply the micellar water to the face, gently wiping away all of the makeup, dirt and oil.

To remove eye makeup and mascara, leave the pad on for a few extra moments so that it breaks down the product. Repeat this step with a fresh cotton pad until there is no visible residue left behind. Then apply your toner, serum and moisturizer as you normally would.
