Who says every highlight needs to be glazed or toned? Whereas that's mostly true for foils (since while bleach lifts pigment, it doesn't always give the desired tone, leaving us to rely on the second step of a gloss), not so with Balayage when it's properly done! In this class you will learn Eva's proprietary highlighting techniques and be immersed in what she refers to as "Blonde Theory," the science of removing pigment and rinsing the hair when it has reached the perfect color. All experienced colorists know that hair lightens in stages, but learning how to control warmth and combat brassiness with classic Balayage application, placement, and processing guidelines, is what makes one a great colorist!

Eva, with the help of our top educators, will work on two live models simultaneously during the demo portion of the class, to showcase these techniques that are critically important for any colorist to be proficient with. You will also learn how to:

- Lift the hair several levels in one visit without causing damage

- Control gold to keep hair from going brassy

- Achieve bright and clear highlights without the use of foils

- Get it right on the first try!

The morning will begin with a presentation on balayage and color theory, followed by Eva's demonstration, as she takes you through the nuances of this specialized art form. After a catered lunch, you will have the opportunity to practice this technique on mannequin heads while being supervised by Eva and her team of educators, to ensure that you receive plenty of personalized attention. So that everyone can get the most out this session, class sizes will be kept fairly small, therefore space is limited.
