When we think of balayage, blondes immediately come to mind. But brunettes comprise a large percentage of our clientele. The Balayage Brün workshop will focus on highlighting and lowlighting brunettes using the balayage technique – something that requires a keen understanding of the nuances of color to properly execute. You will learn how to formulate the most popular base colors and to create natural-looking highlights and added dimension with balayage. We will cover such topics as how to control warmth, prevent brassiness, and most importantly, prevent oxidation. Whether your goal is integrating cool toned blond or “bronde” highlights, warm caramels, or chestnut, this class is for you.
Eva, with the help of our top educators, will work on two live models simultaneously during the demo portion of the class, to showcase these techniques that are critically important for any colorist to be proficient with. You will also learn how to:
- Lift the hair several levels in one visit without causing damage
- Control gold to keep hair from going brassy
- Achieve bright and clear highlights without the use of foils
- Highlight or richen already damaged hair without breaking it, and much more!
The morning will begin with a presentation on balayage and color theory, followed by Eva’s demonstration on live models, as she takes you through the nuances of this specialized art form. After a catered lunch, you will have the opportunity to practice this technique on mannequin heads while being supervised by Eva and her team of educators, to ensure that you receive plenty of personalized attention. So that everyone can get the most out of this session, class sizes will be kept fairly small, therefore space is limited. Please note that videotaping of this class is not permitted.
