Average haircutters can make a nice living. Good haircutters stand out from the rest. Great ones become industry legends. Becoming great requires discipline, dedication, and knowing and being able to execute on the foundation of the technical craft of cutting. To a great haircutter, the human head is a map. Learning how to read and navigate it becomes simple once you understand how to connect the dots and get from point A to B.
This class will cover Eva’s “Foundational Five” philosophy to cutting: sectioning, elevation, cross-checking, blow-drying, and dry-cutting. Learning Eva’s “Five-Star” haircutting approach should enable you to grow your clientele, raise your prices, and understand what separates the best from the rest. Although this is a classic haircutting workshop, Eva will also share her signature face-frame and bang cutting techniques using a straight blade – surprisingly a classic tool. We hope to not only educate but to inspire you to take your cutting skills and business to the next level.
This is the first haircutting class offered at our Academy, although Eva has taught elite-level cutting classes in the past for the likes of L'Oreal Professionel and Wella. Although Eva is mostly recognized within the industry as a top colorist and balayage expert, she is also a master haircutter who is proficient with both scissors and razor. Over her twenty plus year career, she has honed her proprietary cutting techniques, developing and trademarking the Uncut™ method, which leaves the hair looking slightly grown out, while drying into a beautiful shape whether naturally or blown-out.
The morning will begin with a presentation on haircutting, followed by Eva's demonstration, as she takes you through the nuances of her cutting techniques. After a catered lunch, you will have the opportunity to practice this technique on mannequin heads while being supervised by Eva and her team of educators, to ensure that you receive plenty of personalized attention. So that everyone can get the most out this session, class sizes will be kept fairly small, therefore space is limited.
